Chief Justice Roberts Suffers Seizure

Chief Justice John Roberts suffered a seizure at his summer home in Maine on Monday, causing a fall that resulted in minor scrapes, Supreme Court spokeswoman Kathy Arberg said.

He will remain in a hospital in Maine overnight.

Video: Edwards Says ‘They Want To Shut Me Up’

Politico (via Drudge):

MyDD* flags an intense minute and a half from John Edwards in Creston, Iowa, yesterday in which he heatedly tells an audience that the attention to trivia (I assume the reference here is to his haircuts) is “not an accident” and that “they want to shut me up” to silence his message about ending the war and universalizing health care.

He warns, in the video segment posted by his campaign, that if we don’t beat back these unnamed oligarchs, “They’re going to control the media. They’re going to control what’s being said.”

He doesn’t go into detail about who “they” are, other than a reference to people who make $100 million a year, and compares them to the (actual well-funded, conservative) operation that put the Swift Boat ads on air. He also doesn’t explain exactly how this corporate-media collaboration works, but his audience seems to be rapt.

According to the Sean Hannity show, Edwards said he worked at a hedge fund to learn about poverty. Ha. I guess he was a trial lawyer to learn about poverty — by making others poor!

Catfight! Cindy Sheehan vs. Nancy Pelosi

Melanie Morgan writes about the fight between Sheehan and her ex-BFF Nancy Pelosi:

Sheehan announced her candidacy for Congress this week after police arrested her during a sit-in outside the office of her friend, Rep. John Conyers. The arrest gives her instant credibility with the left. Sheehan’s obviously motivated by those frequent-rewards incentives offered by local jailhouses, or else she’s figured out that the only people who take her serious anymore are the incarcerated.

Sheehan claims she decided to run because neither Conyers nor wanna-be war general Nancy Pelosi would introduce articles of impeachment against President Bush.

Gen. Pelosi has done her best to undermine America’s national security at a time of war. She’s tried to undermine the efforts of counterterrorism officials fighting al-Qaida. Gen. Pelosi has simultaneously stabbed our troops in Iraq in the back.

But Sheehan says that’s not enough.

FCC Chairman Says No Reason To Bring Back Fairness Doctrine

The Federal Communications Commission has no intention of reinstating the Fairness Doctrine imposing a requirement of balanced coverage of issues on public airwaves, FCC Chairman Kevin Martin said.

Martin, in a letter written this week to Rep. Mike Pence, R-Ind., and made public Thursday, said the agency found no compelling reason to revisit its 1987 decision that enforcing the federal rule was not in the public interest.

But will his opinion be good enough for the all-knowing sHillary?
